CONSTANT TECHNOLOGICAL IMPROVEMENTS GUARANTEE THE QUALITY AND NATURALNESS OF OUR PRODUCTS.
At Farmina, we believe technology can improve the quality of our products. We are continuously investing in the latest innovations that will allow us to pursue our mission: to develop the best all-natural, nutritious, and scientifically validated food. In the production of our food, we use two unique technologies along with a special packaging process to improve the quality of our final products while also preserving its naturalness.
TECHNOLOGY
TWIN-SCREW
We use a Twin-Screw Extrusion process (double screw extruder) that is mainly used in food production for humans such as pasta, biscuits, etc., unlike most pet food manufacturers. A twin screw extruder activates a mechanical process that ensures better gelatinization of starch by increasing the digestibility of ingredients by 20-25% when compared to single-screw systems. The result is a lower denaturing of nutrients and an increase in digestibility.
VACUUM COATER
We can achieve a homogeneous integration of lipids (fats) throughout each kibble by using our Vacuum Coater System. This technology also allows us to include vitamins at lower temperatures which prevent thermal stress. Vitamins are now effective for longer periods of time enabling us to achieve our concept of Long Life Vitamins.
PROTECTIVE ATMOSPHERE PACKAGING
We pay great attention to the preservation of our food during the packaging process. We use nitrogen gas during packaging to displace any oxygen that is present to avoid fat oxidation and, therefore, rancidity. This solution guarantees the preservation of nutrients over time by isolating the kibbles from the outside world. This same method is utilized in human food packaging.
CONTROLS
STRICT CONTROLS ARE USED TO MAXIMIZE THE ORGANOLEPTIC AND NUTRITIONAL QUALITY OF OUR FOOD.
Our quality control system is critical as it ensures customers receive the best product in terms of organoleptic quality, nutritional quality, and freshness. Our system monitors the entire production cycle starting from the supplier selection to the passage of raw materials and continues throughout the manufacturing process till it finally ends with strict monitoring of the finished product. While our team regularly checks all of the raw materials used in our products, we also subject each production batch to an in-depth analysis that can last up to 18 months.
According to our strict audit process, all of the raw materials we use must come from certified suppliers. We track every production run so we can intervene promptly if necessary and reconstruct the history of each package of food. Also, the use of NIR (Near Infrared) allows for a real-time analysis of all raw materials and finished products that are ready for shipment. Our internal laboratory receives support from independent labs regarding all aspects of food safety according to our strict analysis plan.
We pay particular attention to all activities to ensure the absence of mycotoxins and aflatoxins.
JUST IN TIME
WE CAN PRODUCE PRODUCT'S THAT ARE ALWAYS FRESH WITH THE HIGHEST ORGANOLEPTIC AND NUTRITIONAL QUALITIES.
At Farmina, we use just in time production to provide a freshly cooked, high-quality food product only produced after one of our partners place an order. Typically, by the time our food reaches a consumer, it is only four days old. Just in time production allows us to serve our four-legged friend's products that are always fresh, at their peak nutritionally and have the best organoleptic qualities.
With no deposit or stock on-hand thanks to an efficient workflow, we can offer high-quality products affordably.
